FUNDit and get behind Play Poland – Irish Polish Film Project

Play Poland – Irish-Polish Film Project is a unique festival platform for Irish-Polish filmmakers,
students and cinema lovers that will take place in Dublin in July 2011. It is a part of the biggest
Polish film festival in Europe, being run between May and September 2011.

This festival offers a creative mix of films, workshops
and cinema posters. Located in Filmbase, Temple Bar and the Sycamore Club, Play Poland brings you talks, meetings, exhibitions as well as screenings of professional and students works. Discussion panels involve renowned figures of the film world: Animator Steve Woods, Brendan Phelan (Crewger), Dan Spencer (Pegbar), graphic designer and animator Aga Grandowicz and Dave Byrne (Underground Cinema). Each day is crowned with performances by contemporary musicians: including3EPKANO members performing to Shane McKenna’s animations and experimental DJ duo Aoife Nic Canna and Jerzy Bugno.

Ben Hennessy, Pegbar co-funder, praised the idea of the festival:” I believe there is a gap in terms of networking between Irish and non-Irish filmmakers, especially when you are a young creator. Moreover, the film project has become one of first schemes accepted by FUNDit, the unique Irish crowd-raising platform. It is a great way for people to get involved and feel appreciated for their support. As Pegbar aims at linking film/animation students and professionals, we believe the idea of the festival goes well with our group’s mission.”
