Barley Films Shorts Screened at Zaragoza Cinematheque


15 November 2010 – Barley Films shorts to screen in Bristol


Louise Bagnall’s “Donkey” will be screening in competition while Sydney Padua’s ever popular “Agricultural Report” and Padraig Fagan’s “The Rooster, the Crocodile and the Night Sky” will be shown as part of an Irish retrospective at the 16th Encounters International Film Festival in Bristol, England, 16-21 November 2010.

A Man and Ink are currently on the look out for staffing up for their next production and are seeking candidates for 3 different teams, Storyboard Artists, Animators & Background Artists.


Position Available: Story-boarder

Successful candidates be required to produce StoryBoards & Animatics for 7 minute episodes of a new TV series. They will be required to work under the guidance of the Director and Producer.

Emails of movie files will be deleted without viewing. Due to the amount of emails received per day only candidates selected for a test will be contacted.


Position Available: Animator

Successful candidates will be working as part of a team under the direction of the Animation Director and Director and will be required to complete a set amount of animation per week. Animators will be based in the studio of  A Man & Ink, Galway.

Animation will be produced in the programme Anime Studio Pro and on the job training will be provided to successful candidates. Candidates should have a good working knowledge of a variety of programs  and have a strong grounding in animation and animation principles.

Candidates will be required to complete 2 animation test, both in Anime Studio Pro, the first at home and the 2nd in-house. Position Available: Background Artist

Successful candidates will be working as part of a team under the direction of the Art Director and Director to complete backgrounds for a new TV series. The Background Artists will be based in the studio of  A Man & Ink, Galway.

Backgrounds will be produced in both water-colour and in Photoshop. Candidates should have a good working knowledge of a variety of programs  and have a strong grounding composition and painting skills.
