oscars and events
So as everyone has heard, there are three oscar nominations going to Irish Animation Artists
Nicky Phelan of ‘Brown Bag Films’ has been nominated in the Short
Animation category for ‘Granny O’Grimm’s Sleeping Beauty’.
Tomm Moore of ‘Cartoon Saloon’ has been nominated in the Animated
Feature Film category for ‘The Secret of Kells’.
And Richie Baneham of ‘Rhythm & Hues’ has been nominated in the Visual
Effects category for ‘Avatar’.
Which is amazing!! and Congrats to everyone involved! I think Animation in Ireland is buzzing at the moment and should continue to for quite some time. I hope the younger of the animation artists are aspiring to these goals and beyond!
Second of all we have the Irish Times writing about Irish animation
