Telegael co-production “Sabrina: Secrets of a Teenage WitchTM” has its mid-season return slated for March 15 2014 on US television network The Hub.
The 26 x half hour series is a re-imagining of the successful Archie Comics’ franchise Sabrina The Teenage Witch and is co-produced by Splash Entertainment, Archie Comics Publications, Inc., DSK Entertainment LLC (India), Laughing Lion and Telegael.
The animated series follows Sabrina, a half-witch and half-human, and all super hero who leads two vastly different lives; one disguised as a normal, klutzy high school student and the other as the top sorcery student in the magical world. When her two worlds collide, Sabrina is the only one who has the power to battle her foes, while managing to keep her magical identity a secret from humankind.
The series is being distributed internationally by Splash Entertainment of Los Angeles and will be broadcast in Ireland by TG4 from Autumn 2014.
“Telegael is pleased to be partnering with Archie Comics, Splash Entertainment, DSK and Laughing Lion” says Paul Cummins, Executive Producer on behalf of Telegael. “Irish audiences will be very familiar with the character of Sabrina from the successful live-action TV show “Sabrina, The Teenage Witch” which ran in the 1990s and early 2000s. The new animated co-production revamps the long running character and brings her up-to-date and features voice star Ashley Tisdale (“Scary Movie 5,” “High School Musical 3: Senior Year,” and “Aliens in the Attic”) as Sabrina. We are very pleased that TG4 has acquired the series in Ireland.”
