JOB TITLE: 3D Supervisor
REPORTING TO: Head of CG
LOCATION: Dublin
SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:
The position of 3D Supervisor requires someone with an extensive knowledge of the 3D animation
workflow and pipeline and has experience in leading a CG team. Successful applicants will have a
solid understanding of the production process, strong motivational qualities, be a proven team
leader and have excellent communication and organisational skills. They will be highly organised and
technically and creatively astute.
Key Areas of responsibilities:
– Project manage the production from a CG perspective.
– Work alongside the Art Director to achieve the required ‘Look’ for the project and ensure
the pipeline can facilitate the look efficiently.
– Identify and outline bottlenecks and deficiencies on the project, technical or otherwise, to
the CG Supervisor and Producer. Propose and Implement solutions.
– Ensure the project’s shot pipeline is functioning effectively.
– Clearly and concisely communicate the project’s CG procedures and workflows to the other
– Provide leadership and support for the project’s CG crew, both creatively and technically,
and ensure they partner effectively with Production Management and ensure they deliver
– Collaborate with the Pipeline Team and other 3D Supervisors to make requests and develop
Studio’s global CG workflow and pipeline.
– Promote and Facilitate effective communication relating to CG workflow, between Art
directors, Production management and the CG crew.
– Bidding of assets and shots.
– Use Asset tracking workflows to monitor notes and throughput.
– Previous experience in CG/3D supervision on film or broadcast work.
– Proficient in Maya and how it applies to animation workflows and pipeline.
– Experience with an asset tracking/management system.
– Experience of Animation ‘outsource & offshore’ production models a plus.
– Strong Leadership skills
– Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
– Open to direction

JOB TITLE: FX Artist
REPORTING TO: Production Manager
SUPERVISED BY: FX Supervisor, 3D supervisor
SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:
The position of the FX Artist requires someone with a thorough knowledge of 3D software
and its application of 3D effects such as Particles, fluids, Dynamic collisions and Fracturing.
Successful applicants will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the
ability to work collaboratively with multiple tasks in a fast paced production.
They will have a well-developed ‘eye’, a good working knowledge of effects design for
stylised animation as well as a solid technical grounding in Maya.
Key Areas of responsibilities:
– Establish key FX set-ups for episodes working closely with the art Director/3D Supervisor to
set the required look.
– Create re-usable FX Assets ensuring they adhere to FX pipeline and meet art director’s visual
– Create Asset Launch notes for external FX assets via Shotgun.
– Complete retake notes on Shot’s FX submissions via Shotgun.
– Work with the FX Supervisor to ensure the project’s FX pipeline is reliable and economical
and is adhered to throughout production.
Person Specification/Requirements
– Must have at least 3 years’ experience working as a VFX artist (or similar position) in either
broadcast or feature film work.
– Must be comfortable with outsource management with an emphasis on clear
communication and follow through.
– Must have an excellent working knowledge of FX in Maya and/or Houdini.
– Must have a good understanding of Maya Dynamics and particle systems.
– Knowledge of other programs such as Realflow, Nuke X particles, Fume, After FX, Niad will
– Must have a good “eye” and a thorough understanding of light, color, contrast, shading, and
– Task Driven, self-motivated, and proactive
– Must be open to direction.
– Must demonstrate attention to detail in the finishing of FX in shots.
– Knowledge of Python (and/or Mel) is considered a big plus.

JOB TITLE: Lead Texture Artist
REPORTING TO: Production Manager
Supervised by: 3D supervisor/Art Director
SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:
The position of Lead Texture Artist requires someone with a thorough knowledge of 3D
software, with several years of experience in a similar supervisory role working on broadcast
or film projects.
Successful applicants will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the
ability to work collaboratively with multiple tasks in a fast paced production. They will have a
well-developed ‘eye’ and excellent working knowledge of colour, art and design.
Key Areas of responsibilities:
– Create texture maps for locations and characters working closely with Art Director to set the
required look.
– Ability to Work on a broad variety of show styles Creating Photo Real and stylised texture
maps as required.
– Work with the 3D Supervisor to ensure the project’s texturing pipeline is reliable and
economical and is adhered to throughout production.
– Create Efficient/optimal UV layout for texture painting.
– Approve or complete retake notes on CG Asset’s Texturing submissions via Shotgun when
required.
– Create colour/texture keys for Asset development.
– Provide regular progress updates to production manager and 3D supervisor on any
technical/workflow bottlenecks within the texturing schedule.
– Working with the Art Director – Supervise the quality control (both technically and visually)
of the external asset assignments and ensure the outsource partner has clear direction from
a Look/Texturing perspective.
– Define, document and communicate standards and techniques for Texturing that maximizes
efficiency and ensures a consistent quality under the technical specifications of the project.
– Provide leadership and support for the in-house and external Texturing teams, both
creatively and technically, to facilitate the completion of Texturing assignments on schedule.
– Collaborate with the 3D Supervisor to make requests for studio pipeline tool enhancements
as they relate to Look development.
– Train Junior Texture Artists on the project
Person Specification/Requirements
– Must have at least 4 years’ experience working as a Look development Artist (or similar
position) in either broadcast or feature film work.
– Must be comfortable with outsource management with an emphasis on clear
communication and follow through.
– Must have an excellent working knowledge of Texturing in Maya.
– Must have a working knowledge of an industry 3D paint program.
– Solid understanding of shading and surfacing of materials using Mental ray shaders
(preferably BBF’s shading suite) is required.
– Must have a good “eye” and a thorough understanding of light, color, contrast, shading, and
Texturing design.
– Task Driven, self-motivated, and proactive
– Must be open to direction.
– Must demonstrate attention to detail in texture work.
– Experience with shotgun (or asset tracking systems) is considered a big plus.
– Experience in Texturing/Look pipeline development a big plus.
– Ability to train Junior Artists on the project
